Infant CPR Workshop - $35.00

APPLICATION & RELEVANCE
Prerequisites The Infant CPR Workshop is designed to provide knowledge and skills to new parents to perform the essential life saving techniques of Paediatric Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).

Duration 1 x 2 1/2 hour face-to-face session

Course Content • Introducing and establishing basic First aid principles: DRSABCD • Identifying and eliminating dangers
• Care of an unconscious child, including 'recovery position'
• Recognising response verses no response of a casualty
• Performing infant and child cardiopulmonary resuscitation in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines
• Management of a choking child
• The process for calling an ambulance

Assessment Methods The workshop will focus on demonstration of practical skills and roleplays to reinforce learning. Each workshop is designed to meet the group’s needs by allowing considerable time for questions and open discussions.

Award Issued The Infant CPR Workshop is non-certified training and therefore no assessment is required.

Anaphylaxis, Allergy and Asthma Workshop - $35.00

Application and Relevance The Anaphylaxis, Allergy and Asthma Awareness Workshop is designed to provide parents and care givers with the practical knowledge and skills of anaphylaxis, allergy and Asthma.

Duration 1 x 2 hour face-to-face session

Course Content • Recognise triggers and risks
• How to avoid triggers
• How to manage triggers
• Treatment in the event of an asthma or allergic reaction, including use of an epipen/anapen
• The process for calling an ambulance

Assessment Methods The workshop will focus on demonstration of practical skills and role pays to reinforce learning. Each workshop is designed to meet the group’s needs by allowing considerable time for questions and open discussions.

This hands-on CPR Workshop is designed to provide students with knowledge and skills to participants to perform the essential life saving techniques of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).

Duration 1 x 3 hour face-to-face session

• Treatment of bites and stings
• Treating burns and bleeding • Intro to Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) • The process for calling an ambulance

Award Issue The Family First Aid Workshop is non-certified training and therefore no assessment is required.

Junior Alive Primary School Workshop: Junior First Aid heroes $5.00 / $8.00

Application and Relevance As educators we understand the importance in imparting fresh knowledge. The Junior Alive Primary School Workshop is designed to educate school-aged children about the basic principles of first aid and how to respond in an emergency situation.

Course Content
**Preps to Grade 2
• What is 'First Aid'?
• What is an ‘emergency’?
• Calling triple zero
• Introducing and establishing basic First aid principles: DRSABC

Duration 1 x 1 hour face-to-face session

Grade 3 to Grade 6 • What is an ‘emergency’?
• Calling triple zero
• Introducing and establishing basic First aid principles: DRSABCD
• The lateral position (recovery position)
• What is CPR?
• Managing bleeding
• Managing choking
• Basic wound care and bandaging / slings

Duration 1 x 1½ hour face-to-face session

Award Issued The Junior Alive Primary School Workshop is non-certified training and therefore no assessment is required.

FIRST AID FOR PETS - $10.00

Application and Relevance As educators we understand the importance in imparting fresh knowledge. The First Aid for Pets Workshop is designed to educate pet owners in first aid. This course is ideal for first pet owners, and for people wishing to update/revise their skills.

• The lateral position as it applies to dogs, cats, rabbits, etc
• What is CPR? How to give CPR to an animal!
• Managing bleeding
• Managing choking
• Basic wound care and bandaging

Assessment Methods The workshop will focus on demonstration and practise of practical skills and role-plays to reinforce learning. Each workshop is designed to meet the group’s needs by allowing considerable time for questions and open discussions.

Award Issued First Aid for Pets Workshop participants will receive a statement of completion at the conclusion of the course and a car sticker.

MOTORSPORT FIRST AID TRAINING

Application and Relevance

Suitable for all motorsports, particularly rallying and off roading, which take competitors, officials and spectators far from hospitals and/or well-established health care facilities. Suitable for club meetings, seminars. Can be incorporated into training days as a special session.
